A Day at the Beach

If you don't count the weekend, today was the last day of Spring Break for us. And after spending much of the week cooped up with a 4 year old boy who is not allowed to do anything too physical in case it worsens his concussion, I was ready to get out and do something fun. So, even though we all slept late and took a long time getting ready, we took a little road trip to the beach today for a late lunch. I woke up around 9 I think, with Coley, and Logan woke up almost an hour later. By the time we all got into gear and got out of the driveway it was just about noon (we are NOT morning people). A little over an hour later we were pulling into a parking spot at Cannon Beach, ready for a picnic and some fun in the sand. A quick stop on the walk to the beach for some baby sunglasses for Coley, and we were set. We ate some sandwiches and quesadillas, chased some seagulls, wandered in the sand, buried a few trucks, passed the football around, and got thoroughly covered in sand. By the time we strolled off the beach around 4 we were super happy and super exhausted. Just enough time to stop in a toy shop and pick up a toy fishing set for Logan before we headed home. Road trips to the beach are one of Logan's (and my) absolute favorite things to do in the world, and by the looks of it today, I think it will be one of Coley's favorite things as well. So glad we got to celebrate the end of Spring Break with the first Beach Trip of the year!

A few pics that Logan took on the drive to the beach...

Sandy toes...

OK, yes, I think my kids are gorgeous...

The only photo of the entire day where I could get both of them close together (and of course Coley is stuffing her face full of sand, the story of the day!)

Sweet shades...

Quesadilla, anyone?

Thoroughly worn out on the ride home

  1. My fam and I choose the park this weekend. The sun was beautiful and my son was worn out. Looks like the same was true for your family. I especially loved the kid feet and sunglasses.

Spring break seems to end so quickly. Hope Logan is doing better.

Thank you for stopping by my blog during the LBS tea party
