Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!

Today we had an Amazing time going to see our first live theater show with the kiddos. It was so much fun! We saw "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" at the Northwest Children's Theater and School. It was a great musical with lots of audience interaction, upbeat latin music, vibrant colors, and it was just so well done. Tomorrow is the last performance, but I would definitely recommend anyone to go see it if they ever do this show again.

We were nervous about taking the kids, but it actually went pretty well. Leading up to today, and on the way to the theater, Logan was so excited! At first he was bummed, actually, because he said he wanted to be up on stage and not down in the audience, but he came around and was pretty hyped to go to the show. Then the show started, and he got scared; wouldn't even look at the stage for the first few minutes. He said he didn't want to see the Pigeon drive the bus, and he didn't know what the Pigeon was going to do. Thankfully, he started watching after a few minutes of this, and eventually really got into it. He was laughing, clapping, yelling, really enjoying himself all around. It was great to watch him watch the show!

Coley definitely got into it at times as well. During a few of the musical numbers she sat still on my lap; her only movement was when she would stretch her neck or move her head to follow the dancers as they moved around the stage. She was entranced! She even got into the clapping and cheering, and you could definitely see that she was very interested in all the excitement going on. Then her 1-year-old-ness would kick in and she would not want to sit at all. She stayed quiet, but got very restless so Larry would take her to the lobby to walk around. Poor Larry, he had to miss the ends of both acts because he was in the lobby with Coley.

One of the very best parts of the show was that the cast (or most of it, anyway) was in the lobby right after the show. You could get their autographs and take pictures with them. Logan was so good during this part, even though he was pretty tired by that time. He waited patiently for each actor, he answered their questions and asked for their autographs and photos. What a little Pro!! We will definitely be visiting the NW Children's Theater again in the future! (I hear they have a great production of "Go Dog, Go!" that they will be doing again next year!)
